Ah Frank...the mother of all Beethoven Violin Concertos...doesn't get any better than Kreisler. I feel the same about Schnabel in the somatas and concertos. Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou mean you could download the file?! (New one uploaded just now..
ReplyDeleteGreat performance - didn't want to upload my new 1935 album set!
I have been looking this recording for long time. Thank you for your uploading.
ReplyDeleteThe LP is not too difficult to find in the UK, but any later EMI CD probably wouldn't be using this Bryan Crimp transfer - which is quite good.
DeleteHi Tin Ear !
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your work and the great music !!!
All best,
Franck
About the only thing I don't labour-over is Writing The Music !!!
DeleteForgotten what this one sounds like: its been 'so long ago'....
Many thanks for this - never heard such a performance before, remarkably romantic.
ReplyDeleteYes..very nice - and the violin sounds quite realistic too (given the early date).
DeleteIndeed, just like the notes promise, the violin-tone is still there - even after some way from the original..
Deletethaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've been searching for this recording. It's good to hear Kriesler playing his own cadenzas.
