APR 7004 (2LP's 1987) Transferred by Bryan Crimp from shellacs + EMI's previous tape copy transfer of PC1: the 78 matrices then destroyed..
Bryan Crimp's transfer of PC1 retains a 'tape editing flaw' in mvt.3 (which I've removed - amongst much editing..) but, Strangely, Mr Pristine's 'new release' has the same fault (subdued, but still audible despite all the 'processing': which can make Moiseiwitsch sound like he's playing on a Pub Piano in the famed acoustics of the XR ConvoluteGebouw..).

Wonderful in every way. Looking forward to the Szell-Schnabel Brahms PC 1 to compare it to the Naxos Historical CD issue which I have on my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteForget the Naxos -give ME the money!!!
DeleteСпасибо!
ReplyDeleteThanks...I've re-uploaded, for your interest, my 2014 '78' transfer of Moiseiwitsch's 1938 "Paganini Rhapsody" on 'Collectors Corner' blog - sounds better, IMO...direct link is above.
DeleteHas anyone mentioned that the above link is to the 1955 recordings of the Paganini Rhapsody, Concerto No 2 and the Moments Musicaux. Is there still a link to the 1930's Rachmaninoff Concertos available?
DeleteGuess this is no longer popular/wanted: an odd editing glitch; the zip is on the server: - now corrected link..
ReplyDeleteThank you for this and all of your amazing uploads. It revives my old LP collection. Do you have a You Tube channel to which I can subscribe?
DeleteNice that you mentioned it (must have happened some time back:- the file names are similar).
DeleteNever used YouTube - some material gets copied (Salome) - but it would only make sense if I uploaded there in order to incentivise people to 'buy' a higher quality via the Blogs - but many/most are perfectly happy with YouTube-quality!
