    1. Hello David,
      Ta!
I didn't upload this before as it was on CD - but, apparently, not now.
      Nothing 'archaic' about these performances!

  2. Thank you very much indeed for the wonderful analytical notes.
    Sadly, today would be unthinkable.

  3. Thank you for editing and sharing this with much better sound than the EMI 90s transfers made by Charles Lewin.

    1. Hello Pablo ( and Ipromesisposi...I have some more scans - but sometimes the leaflets are missing from albums - and earlier they were pasted onto the album covers!).

These didn't need too much editing (I left the LP's 'unwashed' as any noise was minimal) - though there were some glitches to remove...but the sound is quite decent for listening-to - but, as I don't buy CD's, I've never a comparison with these analog transfers/LP's to check if they've later been messed-up - but am certain some filtering ('Packburn') has removed a degree of clarity compared to my 78's (which I've never played) - but am fed up trying to please myself/others in terms of 'intervention' to remove much of the surface ''hiss' from shellac - and someone sent a link of my Decca/Bliss 78 transfers - which had been 'noise-reduced' - and the hiss was less - but nearly an octave of my transfer had also gone - with a 'filtered' effect then evident....

  4. Wonderful. Thank you. I have them on record, but you have saved me a digital transfer! And no, indeed, nothing archaic at all, just wonderfully musical.

    1. There's a market for their Brandenburg's (from LP: a recent request hereabouts) - if you have them..

    2. Thanks for the information, but I can't, just can't part with my LP's. I still think of digital versions of the things I have on record as ways of "saving" the vinyl from wear and tear. I still love my records too much to part with them.

    3. EMI UK didn't issue them after the 1957 COLC's (don't have/want: nor have the (presumably) c.1980 French EMI 'References' LP's - but do the excellent F.Busch 'Don Giovanni' in that series).

I presume from your aghast astonishment they won't appear on >>your<< blog ?? - but only mentioned this due to a comment, last month, on the Busch/Beethoven Qts post that EMI's CD's are not too good ....so was asked to transfer them..

      Anyway..made me laugh!!

    1. There may be a bit more to come; though this constitutes a good percentage of what I have on LP in this category - as reliable/usable 78>LP transfers really only started from the early '70s.

  6. I have enjoyed listening to these suites. The playing is very good and '33 is early for such literature. I was a violinist until an accident left me a quadriplegic in 2000. For the last number of years I have maintained a YouTube channel, 2dviolinist (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZWyW8drU9JE_mQzYBZet5A). I have uploaded selections from out of print CDs, L P's, and tapes. I have also "rebroadcast" posts from blogs such as Rolf's Satyr78kl, Bryan's Shellackophile, Neal's Nealshistorical, etc., with their permission. I was wondering if you allow me to upload some of your fine transfers. I give acknowledgment and links to my sources. Please leave a message on my channel either way. I appreciate the work that goes into these transfers. You and the others who do this, especially freely given, are heroes to many of us..

    1. Golly Gosh..it's Deja Vu again....
Couldn't instantly recall the date of your last (very similar!) 'request'...
...anyway, it was..9/1/2014 Sibelius Symphonies....though did remember the first occasion: Elgar Cello Concerto, Enigma Squire/Harty..24&28/11/2011
.....to which posts I refer you back to see my comment/s >>> :~))
