    1. Stupidly, I didn't buy the 'Cosi fan tutte' - this was 99p.... I've the early '50's RCA transfer of 'Nozze di Figaro' - but nowhere as good as this for sound..

    2. The Pearl CDs for Figaro and Così both sound pretty good. Giovanni sounds a lot more muffled on the Pearl CD compared to here. The only other music I have that's this old that sounds this good is maybe your own transfer of Beecham's Zauberflöte haha

    3. Have the first 'Zauberflote' album/libretto -possibly the LP transfer is quite close to the 78's.
      RCA Camden/Victrola might have some non-dumbed-down sound as had intended in 2013 CDN1012 de Luca (1959) and have some as the original HMV 78s - there is also Rethberg/Martinelli/Ponselle etc. But get bored with near-zero response!!
