    1. Mostly 'competition': never previously listened to this LP (finding a few more 'Messiah' arias, on LP, from that period proved fruitless).

      The excerpted 1929 Beecham / Gounod 'Faust' LP from this series is interesting..

    1. Seems to have been rather popular. Paid £5 for the 2 shellac albums some 30years ago - vastly more than for any other '78s'!
