Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York  conducted by  Efrem Kurtz
Philips  ABL 3117  1956 UK LP/Dutch matrix: AA01248 1L=1    Recorded: 8 April 1947
Far more detailed/dynamic - with a much greater frequency-range (<19kHz) than another recent 'smoothed' CBS LP dub on 'Symphonyshare'.....

  2. Rather livelier, eh!
    Had intended doing this + the Kije (an Orphan?) last year - but as the Kurtz was on CD - and the Kije was a bit 'relaxed', I didn't bother (the intended coupling was a 24/96 of the Malko Peter'n'Wolf (now have another ACL transfer) + possibly the Goossens/RPO 'Pictures' on HMV (ALP mono) which is quite good.;

    1. I removed the 24/96 as the 16/44 is perfectly OK.
      Hopefully, this is even lovelier (and more exciting) than any CD transfer!

      A few of Kurtz's NYPO records appeared on early EMI/Columbia (have Wieniawski VC2 -Stern) but this was probably only issued due to Philips' earlier Shostakovich LP's
