Files extensively edited.  Beethoven 3/7 have 'gritty' 78 surfaces (but very clear sound) - so only the most obtrusive defects have been removed.

  1. Thank you for this treasure...! Expectations were high when i saw the post and at first listen was clear would not be let down - the gritty surfaces are small nuisance when the sound is realistic and the performances are musical.

Thanks also for still going on ... every post of yours has been much appreciated around here.

    Best wishes,
    J

  2. Very nice performances - the violin playing not being too 'period'; the Beethoven not uploaded in 2012 due to the 'crackle' noted - and a slight mystery why there should be that problem (only have no.5 as a shellac set) and de-click made no improvement - but just damaged the clarity.
Not yet listened to the remainder of the Schubert/Brahms sets - fairly recently acquired - at last (and absolutely Pristine / cheaply).

These are CD-RW based as my faulty 98SE desktop hard-drive finally failed - and now have problems re-installing the software/drivers for the 24/96 soundcard...and the OS..

(I really haven't had the time/inclination to keep the comments open for the past couple of months - and just did a relatively few uploads to keep things ticking-over)

  4. This is my favourite of the 4 (or 5) blogs currently running - as it's more focused/coherent - and these LP transfers are easily the best available...
