  1. Thank you for this (the Mozart). I hope you do continue - it's very much appreciated, and the spam, well, spam is everywhere but it mustn't be allowed to strangle us.

    1. Most of the Spam gets automatically blocked - but I still get the 'message' notification: so am aware of the %'s involved..!

Not sure about '2013': have been re-reading some of the 1980-1985 'EMG Monthly Letters' and they're a reminder of what a (relatively) small % of EMI issues I have in the Historical category -as only selectively bought such re-issues (mostly Vocal) - and they only later infrequently turned-up (ie: too recent for most LP collectors to have snuffed-it..) 'pre-eBay'....

You only need to check eBay UK to see most are 'held to ransom' by any sellers: so as I (a) don't intend paying those prices (b) have more than enough LP's already (several thousand, at least, never listened-to) then it puts a stop on some potentially interesting material appearing hereabouts...ie: if I had the c.1980 Schnabel Beethoven Sonatas complete (only have Vol.1/2/4 of the 5 Volumes) then would have 'willingly' uploaded that lot (over time),

Anyway, the Mozart here is rather nice - and vinyl copies of original metalwork are streets-ahead of rubbishy shellac-derived re-masterings

If my 1973-bought Harty/Berlioz Overtures hadn't been 'well worn' I would have uploaded that WRC disc instead of the dubious side 2 of this LP...

    1. I haven't recently checked the download numbers - but would be disappointed if the Mozart wasn't 'popular' - as this is really very good as a performance (and recording) - though 'EMG Monthly Letter' gave it a rather dismissive review - hence I didn't attach the scan!

    2. Hi Frank,

Re violinists: Id dearly like to hear the likes of Vito, Bobescu, and Martzy if you might be willing to upload the audio for those covers posted last week.

Sending along a quick thank you for this Tertis and all the recent historical issues. esp. the Webster Booth, one of my favorite non-operatic vocalists. I lent out my Lp but never got it back. There was a disappointing CD issue of the HMV LP on Dutton which I bought but rarely play.

    3. Years back I sold most of my Violin'n'Cello LP's (doubtless now residing in Far-Eastern Bank Vaults..) - but subsequently acquired some more 'rarities' for a pittance.

The de Vito 'Kreutzer' has a superb 1st mvt (the whole performance is markedly better than Heifetz/Moiseiwitsch on ALP) + have 2 other de Vito's (but, now, only one Martzy: 33CX Schubert).

The only Bobescu/Decca I had was the Franck 10" - which I was glad to see the back-of (as with de Vito's Brahms Double Conc 10" BLP) - but have some commonplace DGG 'Belgian' stereo Heliodor ..+ the excellent mono Heliodor of Martzy's Dvorak Concerto.
